If historic architecture is of interest to you, make sure you take a trip to Columbus Square in the center of Castries.  Here there are numerous 19th century buildings that will allow you to imagine what it must have been like to live on the island in the 1800s.

Also in Castries is the Government House, the official residence of the governor general.  Inside the Victorian structure is the Le Pavillion Royal Museum, which houses photographs of important St. Lucian figures, historical documents, and artifacts.

Religious Sites

Castries is home to a Roman Catholic cathedral that was built on the island in 1897, Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.  The cathedral is still active, and guests may attend religious services and simply walk through the building on a daily basis.
