Due to opposition from the St. Lucia Labor Party and religious leaders, the opening of a casino on the island has been delayed for many years. But efforts to boost St. Lucia's tourism industry have prompted island officials to begin the construction of the country's first casino. For those visiting the island, the Treasure Bay casino will be a welcome addition to St. Lucia's night life and attractions.
